OK Standings Updated

A few changes this week, though not as many as expected due to games that were canceled. Mona Shores looks to be in control of its own destiny in Tier 1 at this point, though they still have to beat all five opponents a second time around. In Tier 2, Forest Hills Central is creeping ahead of the pack, but Kenowa Hill, Reeths Puffer and Hudsonville are all within striking distance. In Tier 3, Lowell-Caledonia retains its lead. Thanks to Coach Ballard for the update. Double click on the graphic below to super size it.

I hear that Grandville - Mona Shores may not be made up unless it is necessary to decide the conf. Interesting how not one Friday MAHA District 6 tournament game was missed by a traveling team...but Granville could not send a bus to Muskegon. Grandville - this is MICHIGAN - deal with it!!!

when i think of all of the trips we made for travel hockey in weather that was so much worse than last Friday's over distances that were 3-4x greater, it is almost laughable. But schools are afraid of liability, so until we 'kill all the lawyers,' what are you gonna do?

It would be unfortunate if this game can't be made up due to rules and regulations, but on the other hand, you can't blame Grandville's hockey team for the cancellation. These decisions are made by the individual school districts and if evening activities are cancelled due to inclement weather, that means ALL activities, including hockey. Mona needs to schedule a few conference games earlier in their season which might help prevent this in the future.
