TEAM WEST MICHIGAN TRYOUTS SET

Once again, high school hockey players in West Michigan will have the opportunity to try out for Team West Michigan, a select team that will compete in the Michigan Developmental Hockey League (MDHL) during September and October, prior to the beginning of the regular high school season. The tryout dates and times are outlined below. All ice times will be at Kentwood Ice Arena. This is a change from last year. Each player will participate in 3 scrimmages: One on Friday and two on Saturday. Select players will be invited to a third tryout on the following Monday.

Friday August 15
6:00 – 7:15 pm or 7:30 – 8:45 pm

Saturday August 16
am session: 10:00 – 11:15 am or 11:30 am – 12:45 pm
pm session: 3:00 – 4:15 pm or 4:30 – 5:45 pm

Monday, August 18 (by invitation only)
7:00 - 8:30 pm

The cost of the tryout will be $75 to cover the cost of ice time, jerseys (player will keep) and officials. In order to tryout, players must complete the registration form and mail it along with a check made payable to “Team West Michigan.” Registration and check are to be mailed to:

With a limited amount of time for tryouts, the number of players that can be accommodated will be limited. get their information in as soon as possible. Coaches have been encouraged to send top players to attend.

In addition to Team Michigan, the organizers will once again be conducting West Michigan Developmental League. With Team West Michigan and the West Michigan League, there should be a place for all High School caliber players to play. More detailed information regarding the West Michigan League will be sent out in the very near future.
