MHSCHA Dream Team Announced

The MHSHCA unveiled its annual Dream Team today at a banquet in Livonia. The Dream Team represents the 6 best players as voted by the member coaches of the MHSHCA. This year's team includes:

  • Josh Miller - Trenton
  • Nathan Milam - Livonia Churchill
  • Steve Brancheau - Wyandotte
  • Arthur Griem - Grosse Pointe South
  • Carson Curran - Flint Powers
  • Trevor Sattelmeier - Grosse Pointe South

No West Michigan dream teamers this year, though three players were nominated: Adam Janecyk and Kevin Boman of GRCC, and Ben Grover of East Kentwood. Of course, the Dream Team is typically dominated by teams from Southeast Michigan. Since its founding in 1999, eight West Michigan players have been named to the Dream Team, including two-time winner Eric Alexander of East Kentwood.

Additionally, the MHSHCA also named its 2008 Mr. Hockey: Josh Miller of Trenton. The senior forward from the Division 2 champions, considered by many to be the best team in the state this year, had 86 points over the past season (43 goals, 43 assists). The Detroit Freep did a nice write up on him earlier this month.

Goaltender was a horrible pick. Janny should have gotten it hands down, not some garbage goalie from Grosse Pointe South.
