The Cougars get a City League win over the Eagles. GRCC jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first on goals by Clayton Brackett, Matt Kane (2), Paul Ziemke and Dom Lefere. Christian coach Jeff Huizenga must have read the Eagles the riot act between periods because they came out in the second with a renewed sense of purpose. Catholic added one goal in the second, as Matt Kane turned the hat trick when he chipped in the puck off a beautiful feed through the blue paint by Ziemke. Eagles goalie Mitch Bryant was outstanding with 21 saves in the second period alone (he finished the game with 43 saves on 51 shots). In the third period, GRCC got goals from Ziemke and Kevin Boman (assisted by Joey Bowen), and Christian got on the board with a goal by Tyler Spiering. Cougar netminder Quinn Edwards earned the win between the pipes, turning aside 17 shots.
