MCC got an outstanding performance from freshman goalie Thomas Marine to hold off Kenowa Hills in a well-played game at Griff's Holiday Tournament. Marine had 36 saves, many of them in acrobatic fashion, and the Crusaders scored twice in the final 3:18 to pull out the victory in a see-saw game.
After a penalty filled second period, the refs put their whistles away in the third to let 'em play. MCC got goals from Jeff Musselman, Adam Pieczynski, Erin Cutter and Steve Westerberg. Kenowa Hills got two goals from Eric Dye and one from Travis Nichol on a deflection of a shot from the point. Kenowa goalie Zac Smith had 28 saves. Pix below including the scoresheet for you stat-hounds. The Muskegon Chronicle covers the game here.

good game. refs where pretty descent tonight. catholic clearly wanted it more.
ya, number 7 for catholic sure did put a beating on some of those kenowa hills players. kenowa hills put up a very good fight. game could have went both ways.
Nice win by MCC. Trap game for Kenowa. Tough to bounce back after tying EK, but MCC showed up to play after a tough loss to Rockford. Good job MCC.
