Mona Shores 4 EGR 1

Thanks to some erstwhile dads from Mona and EGR both, we've cobbled together this report: This game was close on the scoreboard through two periods, though Mona controlled a lot of the action. EGR got on the board first on an unassisted goal by junior Jeff Kallil. Forward Bret Grevel started the scoring for the Sailors in the second period and the score remained 1-1 through two. In the third period, Mona put up a three-goal barrage with goals by Mike Soto, Brock Carlston, and JC Boyd, and two assists from Andrew Ulfsax and one by David "Chicken Coop" Coppock. The Sailors rained 34 shots on the visitors from EGR, but Pioneers goalie Ian McDonald played an excellent game to keep it close. MMS netminder Scottie "T Thug" Tiefenthal turned aside 13 shots.

Disclosure: I coached one of the players named above, Jeff Kallil, when he was a mite. Evidently, he's been able to overcome any damage done to his skills by my coaching.
