We haven't even done tryouts yet, but the MHSAA is all over it. The playoff schedule, including pre-regional assignments are posted here.

About the Blog
The WMHSH Blog is a collaborative effort to bring together the West Michigan high school hockey community and create opportunities for players, students and coaches. Started by an overzealous hockey dad in 2007-08, the Blog grew quickly into a community-based site through contributions from players, coaches, parents, administrators, referees, fans and local media throughout West Michigan. Looked at the minutes for HS hockey. Did I see that right regarding rule changes? 22 players dressed on bench? Neckgaurds required for players and hanging guard for goalies?
yes 22 players can be dressed. on most benches it seems 20 is crowded enough. were neck guards required in the past?
also they were considering playing 17 minute periods instead of 15 minute periods, but the rule did not change but it could next year or within the next few years.
22 players permitted
Players are required to wear neckguards. Goalies are required to wear both a neckguard and a seperate, commercially manufactured throat guard (aka flapper)
MHSAA has no plans at present to adopt the 17 minute periods as the talk is it will only be an option, not a requirement.
