Mona's Carlston Headed to USHL?

Just got a note from one of my lakeshore sources that Mona Shores junior Brock Carlston may be headed to the USHL, having been selected to the preliminary roster of the Cedar Rapids Roughriders. The preliminary roster of 28, including 17 newcomers, must be reduced to 25 players by July 1.

Congrats Brock!

This would be a huge loss for Mona, but I think it may be time for him to move on. You are not talking about AAA, or a Tier II league or even worse Tier III or Empire Jr. B. The USHL is the best place to play as a senior. However, before any Mona bashers get too excited 28 is a long way from active roster to start the season, good luck Brock- play well.

...a draft is a right and a tryout is just that! Making the team however...is priceless! Best of luck and show'em what West Michigan Hockey is all about!

There are rumors that twins from Minnesota that played AAA are moving to the MS district....aahhh rumors.

Thank god now I don't have to play against this kid now. Mona's best player and I also have heard that Anthony Pino will not be returning to EK this year and will be playing Compuware. Any truth to that rumor?

Nice Work Brock! Regarding the Minnesota/MS rumor:

The rumor about the kid from Minnesota is true! He's not a twin, he just plays so hard it seems like there are two of him on the ice. This has been confirmed with a MS coach. According to scouting reports, he skates so fast he's been known to ice the puck inside his own blue line, then catch it before it crosses the end line. He has such soft hands, he once carried an egg end to end thru five players and an extra attacker before depositing it five hole, all w/o breaking it. His wrists are so quick he was witnessed knitting matching scarves for the entire coaching staff and one trainer on the visitors bench in between shifts. His stick-work is so accurate it's said he plucked a chive from the front tooth of a linesman with his blade while carrying the puck into the zone. He's so intelligent, he once missed a tournament to present his thesis paper on cold fusion, but his mite team won the tourney anyway. He's coming all right. - hockeymonkey

What about the kid from Saskatchewan? I heard he is more of a physical defenseman, will he be ale to fill the offensive gap that Carlston will leave?

Pino rumor is not true. He got cut from VH and so did Sanders for the fall. I guess they will slum it like the rest of us west siders!!
