Was really great to see FOX-TV's Brent Ashcroft and WOOD-TV's Larry Figurski chatting amiably with each other between periods at the GRCC vs. EGR game tonight. That kind of sportsmanship sets a good tone for the players. (Of course, Ashcroft did later get 2 for roughing when he started jockeying for position along the glass). Seriously, you know that these guys are working extra hard these days with high school playoffs in hockey and boys/girls basketball, so thanks to them both for showing up. FOX has some great prep hockey highlights for three games, including Kentwood's 8-0 win over Kalamazoo United, Grand Rapids Catholic Central's 4-1 victory over East Grand Rapids, and Mattawan's 4-1 win against Grand Rapids Christian High. WOOD TV8 has some cool moving pictures of the GRCC-EGR game as well as the Kentwood-Kal United contest.
