Mona Shores wins Tier 1 title

Mona Shores senior JC Boyd scored with 1.7 seconds left to lift the Sailors a 4-3 win over Kentwood and the OK Conference Tier 1 title. The game-winner capped a comeback by Mona Shores, which had dug itself a 3-0 hole through most of two periods. Kentwood scored first, on first period goal that was shot through traffic by Anthony Pino. Senior captain Tyler Copeland added a pair of second period goals to put the Falcons up 3-zip with about 5 minutes left in the second stanza.

As in the first meeting between the teams, a 3-goal deficit proved just what the Sailors needed. Taylor Moore got the Sailors on the board, assisted by Brock Carlston in the second period. Adam Meloche scored a pair of power play goals in the third period, with Brock Carlston and JC Boyd earning assists on each tally. The tie game set up the heroics by Boyd, who actually scored the game-winner into an empty net. More on that a bit later.

I'd never seen Mona Shores road uni's before.......can you say NASCAR. I don't think anyone would even notice if a Wonder Bread logo was added smack dab in the middle of them.

Even if their fans, parents, coaches, etc are are heathens. Way to go Shores and thanks to EK for a great game.

EK knows MS coaches players & fans are not heathens. A hard fought clean game played by both teams. MS just wants to win like every other team. Good luck to both teams !

I don't like the road jerseys much myself, but they did look good last night in that huuuuge pile at the end of the game.
