Reeths-Puffer 3 Jenison 2

Reeths-Puffer gets a 3-2 win over a "feisty" Jenison team in OK Conference Tier 2 action. Scott Nelson got the Rockets on the board just 8 seconds into the game and then Ben Sikkenga added one later in the first to put Reeths-Puffer up 2-0. Jenison answered with a goal in the second by Taylor Irrer to cut the margin in half, but RP's Jake Hambidge scored early in the third to give the Rockets a two-goal lead once again. Jenison's Josh Camiller tallied to make it 3-2, but they couldn't get the equalizer.

Reeths-Puffer netminder Eddie Young was tested with 21 shots, including nine good scoring chances, according to Rockets Coach Eric Sikkenga. "Eddie played well for us," he said. "Jenison was pretty feisty tonight, but the whole the team played pretty well. We played three games this week, but knew this was the important one because it was the league game." The conference win keeps Reeths-Puffer (4-1-1) in thick of a crowded OK-2 conference race.
