The new rankings are out on the MHSHCA website. West Michigan teams hold their places in all three divisions. If you believe in rankings, this weekend will be a great one for high school hockey in West Michigan as several of the top teams in the state will be playing on the left coast. The East-West Invitational in GR features GRCC, SMCC and Wyandotte-Roosevelt, while OLSM and Birmingham Brother Rice head to this neck of the woods for games against Mona Shores. OLSM also plays a Saturday game against Portage Central, which should be a dandy. Up north, Traverse City West hosts Marquette, ranked #5 in D-1. We'll have the full weekend schedule posted on Wednesday this week so you can plan your week of high school hockey.

catholic central is no question the best team in the area. they have greta goaltending in adam janecyk (sorry if spelled wrong), plu syou throw in matt kane, klayton brackett, and kevin bowman along with the rest of the team. they can't be stopped. i do believe that kenowa hills will give them a challenge in the playoffs, but those are a long ways away,as of right now,GRCC is the best in the state.
