Hudsonville 6 Midland Dow 2

Hudsonville made the journey to mid-Michigan for the weekend and opened up their trip against Midland Dow. The Chargers took the early lead finding the net at 9:46 of the first period on a goal by Eli Rytlewski. Hudsonville responded for the equalizer late in the first when John Kersaan took a pass in the neutral zone from Robby Decker and buried the wrist shot from the top of the circles. It took until late into the second period before the Eagles finally found their legs and turned on the offense when Parker Host skated in the Dow zone and fired a wrist shot from the slot beating Dow goalie Colin Annelin for the 2-1 lead. Hudsonville came out for the third firing on all cylinders; Alex Host (Kersaan and Alex DeCorte) found the net 2:13 into the period, Jaron Grzegorczyk would score twice (unassisted, Alex Host) and Kersaan (from Alex Host) would add his second of the night. Pete Herman continued his outstanding play in net stopping 15 of the 17 shots he faced on the night. The Eagles put 32 shots on the Dow net. Hudsonville will face off against Midland High on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Midland Civic Arena.
