Big Rapids falls 3-0 in the Soo Tourney final on Saturday afternoon in Soo Ste. Marie, MI. It was a hard fought game Vs an extremely physical Soo Ste. Marie Blue Devils team. At the first period break the Blue Devils carried a 1-0 lead, as niether team dominated the period. The 2nd period proved to be different as the Soo team fired 13 shots on Bob Butterfield who was in goal for the Cardinals, one shot a 1 on 0 breakaway that found the back of the net. The 2nd period produced several scoring opportunities for both teams, but Big Rapids could not capitalize on the net battles or rebounds. The Big Rapids defense battled aggressively as Nick Goodfellow, Billy McMullen and Eli Adams made several key defensive plays to keep Big Rapids within striking distance, but the Soo's intensity was just to much for the Cardinals. After 2 periods of play, the score was Soo 3 - Big Rapids 0. The third period was an extremely physical period, with Goodfellow from Big Rapids landing several "big" hits but the Cardinals could not turn the momentum of the game and eventually fell 3-0. Butterfield played well in net stopping 23 of the 26 shots.

MS goalie Dan Harwood earned his first shutout for the Sailors by turning away 15 shots from the visiting GR Christian Eagles. Shores continued to shoot first and ask questions later, firing 46 shots on Eagles goalie Mitch Bryant. Bryant made several impressive saves from point blank range to keep the Sailors honest.
