Hudsonville 8 Holt 1

After four straight OK Conference Tier 2 games that saw Hudsonville go 3-1, the Eagles welcomed the Holt Rams to Georgetown for a non-league match-up. After a back-and-forth start to the game, the Eagles tallied first when Trent VanderMolen tipped in a Ryan Rose shot from just outside the left circle. Just 41 seconds later, Parker Host found the back of the net with a blistering slap shot from the right point. The Eagles would score once more with 2 seconds left in the period when Robby Decker fed Alex Host who made a great pass to John Kersaan in front of the net.

The Rams only goal of the night came at 7:14 of the second period when Ben Zietlow found the net with an assist from Kyle Drake. The Eagles responded 44 seconds later, when Rose outworked the Ram defense in the corner and fed the puck behind the net to Jaron Grzegorczyk, who made a great touch pass to Josh Thurkettle for the finish. With 2 minutes left in the second period Grzegorczyk would find the net with a nifty top shelf back-hand goal on assists from Alex Host and Kameron Lewis.

Kurtis Potter
wasted no time getting the Eagles rolling again in the third when he found the net 1:23 into the period on assists from Decker and Parker Host. Parker Host would find the net again, half-way through the period on a great set-up from older brother Alex and Steve Crass. Parker Host completed his hat-trick when Potter found him all alone at the back door and he lifted the water bottle. Eagles sophomore goaltender Matt Collins earned his second win in as many starts, stopping 9 of 10 Rams shots; Holt netminder Chris Carrier faced 43 shots from the Eagles.

Hudsonville (9-1) returns to the ice when they play in the Forest Hills Northern/Eastern Christmas Tournament at Patterson on December 27th and 28th.
